Texas Municipal Police Association Endorses Miller in Hill Country District 73

October 27, 2010

The Texas Municipal Police Association (TMPA) has announced their endorsement of Republican Representative Doug Miller in District 73.  Miller represents much of the Hill Country, including New Braunfels, Boerne, Bandera and Fredericksburg.

“I am dedicated to creating and supporting legislation that protects those who risk their lives to keep our communities safe,” said Miller, “Having served as a police officer and Mayor in the city of New Braunfels, I have a long standing commitment to our neighbors and their families across the Hill Country.”

Representing more Texas peace officers than any other association in the state, TMPA was founded in 1950 by peace officers representing all ranks and agency sizes and began as a lobbying group of municipal officers with the objective of promoting professionalism in Texas law enforcement, improving job conditions and enhancing communication among Texas peace officers.  Today, TMPA represents nearly 17,000 officers in the state, including Texas peace officers, reserve officers and public safety employees.
